DevLink connects Webflow components with React so visually managed building blocks can be used in code projects. In Webflow, the solution should align CMS structure, components, permissions, and ongoing editorial maintenance. The concept is closely related to React and Component.

FAQ

DevLink

How does DevLink differ from a headless CMS?
Interface building blocks come from DevLink, while content comes from a headless CMS through an API. They solve different tasks and can be combined. A React application can use components from Webflow and pull its text from a CMS. Sharing content rather than layout calls for the API, not DevLink.
What limits does DevLink have in day-to-day projects?
Data flows from Webflow into the code, not the other way around. Manual edits to the generated files are lost on the next sync, so adjustments belong in Webflow or in surrounding custom components. The setup also needs clear agreements between design and development so changes do not break layouts unnoticed.
How does DevLink work technically?
Webflow components are exported through the Webflow CLI as React components with their styles into a code project and synchronized there. Changes made in Webflow reach the code through a new sync. The project uses the generated components like its own and passes them data through props, where those are defined for the component.
When is DevLink worth using?
DevLink pays off when design or marketing maintain building blocks visually in Webflow and a product team uses the same elements in a React application. That keeps a single source for the visual appearance. Without a React project or without that need, it only adds synchronization work.
