FAQ

React

How can React components be connected with Webflow?
With DevLink, Webflow components can be exported as React code into an existing project. In addition, React components can be used in Webflow as code components. Both routes connect visual design with development but need defined ownership so design and code do not drift apart.
How do React and Next.js differ?
React is a library for the user interface, while Next.js is a framework on top of it that brings routing, server-side rendering, and a build process. React alone needs additional tooling for these tasks. Teams building a complete web application usually pick a framework instead of assembling routing and rendering themselves.
When does React make sense for a website?
React makes sense when interfaces are highly interactive, manage a lot of state, and should be built from reusable components, such as configurators, dashboards, or portals. For mostly content-driven sites it adds effort for build, hydration, and maintenance. The benefit grows with the amount of interaction, not with the page count.
