Webhook

A webhook automatically sends data to another system over HTTP when an event occurs.

A webhook enables systems to exchange data automatically in response to specific events, without requiring the receiving system to poll continuously for changes. When an event is triggered, the source sends an HTTP request with the relevant payload to a predefined endpoint. Reliable implementations depend on clear data contracts, secure authentication, robust error handling, and observable delivery and retry behavior. The concept is closely related to API and Process Automation.
