Source by Webflow

Source by Webflow is a platform where marketing teams and AI agents build and optimize digital experiences together.

Source by Webflow connects a codebase, CMS, and marketing tools in a shared working environment. Code forms the foundation of what ships, while people and AI agents can work visually, conversationally, or directly in code. The product initially launched as a limited research preview.

FAQ

Source by Webflow

What should be clarified before adopting Source by Webflow?
Permissions, approval paths, and responsibilities need to be settled first, especially when AI agents make changes. Equally important is how the existing codebase, reviews, and tests fit in. Because the product is in a research preview, an assessment of its maturity is part of the decision.
What is the benefit of connecting a codebase, CMS, and marketing tools?
The connection reduces handoffs: content, code, and marketing tools no longer sit in separate systems with their own versions of the truth. That lowers coordination effort and drift between preview and published site. The benefit depends on how cleanly existing tools and data flows can be connected.
What is the current status of Source by Webflow?
Source by Webflow launched as a limited research preview. Scope and availability may therefore change, and the current state should be confirmed with Webflow before committing to large production projects. A research preview signals early testing, not a fixed product scope.
Which teams is Source by Webflow suited for?
Source suits teams in which marketing and development work on the same codebase and AI agents are meant to take on tasks. For simple websites without agent needs or a code workflow, the approach is less relevant. The deciding question is whether a shared working environment for people and agents is actually needed.
How does Source by Webflow differ from tools built on a proprietary design model?
In Source, code is the foundation of what gets published, rather than a separate design model that has to be translated first. Visual editing, conversation, and direct coding all work against the same codebase. Whether that pays off in a given case depends on the development workflows already in place.
