Single Source of Truth
A single source of truth is the authoritative data source from which participating systems obtain consistent information.
A single source of truth keeps critical information consistent by establishing one authoritative system from which connected applications read or synchronize data. This reduces duplicate maintenance, conflicting records, and unnecessary synchronization errors. Reliable implementations depend on clear data ownership, well-defined interfaces, secure access, and observable data flows. The concept is closely related to Data Integration and CRM Integration.
